Bruce Krentz with the Health Region says these advocates can help anyone who wants extra support as they navigate the health care system.  He explains if he was your advocate he would come to appointments with you as sometimes you may be too embarrassed or too shy to ask some questions of your doctor.  He says often times when you’re in an appointment you get a whole lot of information all at once and you have a little trouble absorbing it because you get the first sentence and not the rest of it.  He adds it’s somebody you trust that you feel comfortable having with you.
