Information Sessions are Available on Dementia.

 

The Primary Health Care Center continues to host a series of telehealth seminars presented by the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.  The Society’s First Link Coordinator Marilyn Maartense says they are part of Telehealth Family Education for Those Experiencing Dementia.  She says the next session on March 21st is Understanding the Psychoses and Anxiety in Dementia and that will be with regards to the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia which may include hallucinations, delusions, psychoses, anxiety so just to gain a better understanding of how these changes may manifest in the person with dementia and be informed of some of the strategies of our approaches to these changes.

             

The sessions are held at the Primary Health Care Center from 6:30 to 8.  The April 25th session will cover Food and Nutrition.  To register for the seminars go to www.alzheimer.mb.ca or email outreach@alzheimer.mb.ca or phone 1-800-378-6699 and use the reference code Flin Flon.
