The Budget Passed Tuesday Night and the School Day Will Remain the Same.

The Flin Flon School Board has passed a motion to approve the 2017-18 budget which will now be forwarded to the Public Schools Finance Board no later than March 31st.

Board Chair Murray Skeavington announced the Board has decided to keep the length of the school day as is due to costs.  The Board thanked all who contributed their input via recent public forums and surveys.

Assistant Superintendent Dean Grove spoke on the special education survey which parents can access via the Division website or pick up a hard copy at your child’s school.  There will be a community forum on special education funding which will be held March 16th at Ruth Betts School and again April 20th at Ecole McIsaac School.

In closing Board Chair Murray Skeavington gave huge congratulations on behalf of the Board to the group of Hapnot students who collectively raised 330 dollars towards clean water and sanitation projects in Kenya.  He noted this is just an example of what kids in our community can do.  Follow the links on the Hapnot website or facebook page for more information.
