UCN in The Pas Will See Upgraded Science Labs.

The Manitoba and Federal governments will invest one million dollars at University College of The North in The Pas.  Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister made the announcement while in The Pas for the Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival.  He said the funding commitment to UCN will be for the renovation of science labs.  He said construction of some badly needed labs at UCN will provide some additional opportunities for quality training.  He added you’ve got to unlock the potential of your young people and the better facilities you can have the better for the students here and for all of us so they’re investing in the future.

The federal government will invest 550 thousand dollars while the provincial government the other 450 thousand.  An additional 500 thousand dollars for the 1.5 million dollar project will come from UCN.  The science labs are used annually by 120 students and are expected to be renovated by the next school year.
