It Was Down to Business for the School Board.

The Flin Flon School Board held their election for Chair and Vice-Chair last night with current Chair Murray Skeavington staying on for the year ahead and Leslie Fernandes fulfilling the Vice-Chair duties.  The newly appointed Superintendent of Schools Dr. Constance McLeese thanked the Rotary Club for the welcome back breakfast provided for Division staff.  The welcome back barbeque that was previously postponed for Ruth Betts School will now take place tomorrow at the School between 5 and 8 pm.  Grade one to three students will enjoy a welcome back sock hop between 1 and 3 this afternoon.  At Hapnot Collegiate golf, soccer, volleyball, choir and jazz programs have all started and the Travel Club had their first meeting planning the trip to the Netherlands.  The McIsaac Parent Advisory Committee back to school barbeque is scheduled for 5 pm today and their next meeting is Septmeber 19th.

The School Division will also be recognizing Peace Days from September 11th through the 21st.  A proclamation was issued last year by former Minister of Education and Advanced Learning James Allum.
