Your Cheques Will Be in the Mail.

The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba advises they have resumed using Canada Post services for mail delivery.  This includes injured workers’ wage loss, pension and medical aid cheques and health care provider’s goods and services cheques.  In June the WCB had implemented its postal disruption contingency plan by discontinuing the use of Canada Post and providing a cheque pick up service.

They note at this point Canada Post and the union representing its employees have indicated that there must be at least a 72 hour notice before work stoppages can be implemented and the Board feels confident that the needs of injured workers and healthcare providers are better served by using Canada Post to deliver essential mail.  They will continue to monitor the situation and will re-institute its Postal Contingency Plan if necessary.
