Moves Are Being Made Towards Developing a Dog Park.

At the Flin Flon City Council meeting Tuesday night Mayor Cal Huntley reported progress on plans for a dog park.  He said they are looking at the Riverside ball park which is not now being used.  He said it is already fenced in and is away from homes on that side of the street and will make it easer for people to clean up after their dogs.  He added it still a work in progress and no time frame has been set for when it will be completed.

It was also noted there have been complaints about the mess of droppings along the Boardwalk but these are from geese and not dogs. Councilor Colleen McKee reported there have also been complaints about people dumping grass clippings along parks and these attract insects and rodents so the clipping should be bagged and disposed of properly.

At the last Council meeting people using Channing Beach asked Council about bathroom facilities because of the large number of people now using the beach.  Council agreed to look into the cost and maintenance needs but as an interim measure a port a potty has been placed there.

And Council passed a resolution congratulating the Rotary Club on the magnificent air show last week noting support from the Club, sponsors, volunteers and the whole community.
