Northerners Going to Winnipeg Can Be Closer to the Health Sciences Center.

A medical hostel in Winnipeg that houses northern Manitobans traveling to the city for medical reasons has opened their new doors.  A Port in The Storm recently moved to their new location at 311 Alexander Avenue, which brings them closer to the Health Sciences Center than their previous location at Villa Aulneau.

Executive Director Stacey Grocholski says there are benefits to their new location.  She says they have full suites which is really nice with beautiful kitchens and significant amenities, it’s a quiet peaceful place very close to shopping and all amenities in the downtown area.  She adds they’re easy to find just off Main Street which is really nice for navigation for people that are from out of town.

Grocholski says while their room cost per night is relatively low at 58 dollars they continue to try and make it even lower having started an Adopt a Suite program where anyone willing to donate annually can reduce costs associated with that suite.
