Cadets from the 2328 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp received awards last night for their work over the past year.

 

 The first award was the First Class Canadian Decoration to Captain Bill McLean for 22 years of service.  He is retiring as Captain with the Corp in November but will return as a civilian instructor.

            The highest award available to cadets the Lord Strathcona Trust Medal for exemplary performance was presented to Jemedie Morris who also received the Captain W.A. Sweeney Trophy for general proficiency by a senior cadet and the Ubique Trophy for recruiting.  The CWO Fisher Trophy for general proficiency by a junior cadet went to Tristan Kolenosky who also received best attendance at one hundred percent, the Sergeant J.A. Horrocks Trophy for dress and deportment  went to Kaylee Banting who also received the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 73 Medal for excellence and performance, the Lieutenant Colonel F.S. Gira Trophy for citizenship to Torin Abrahamson and Michael Ward, the Second Lieutenant M. Beauchamp Trophy for Most Improved Cadet to Luan Gowse, the Major M.J. Naylor Trophy for dedication and commitment to Mark Leifso, the best first year cadet to Keenan Campbell and a four year service medal to Jeffrey Odegaard.
