The Flin Flon Friendship Center Aboriginal Headstart Program has started and is taking registrations for their fall programs. The Program’s Katie Kawerski says it’s a pre-school program for First Nations, Metis and Inuit children three to five years old so their focus is language and culture, education, parental involvement and community partnerships as well as health and nutrition but during the day the children get to interact with one another. She says they prepare them for school and they learn valuable skills in a very relaxed semi-structured environment.
Kawerski adds there are still spots for the morning but the afternoons are full so you can still register and be put on a waiting list. To register call Katie at 204-687-1311.
