United Steelworkers Local 7106 President Tom Davie says negotiations are going to continue later this month with Hudbay. He says they had their first round of talks with the conciliation officer at the end of April with very little headway. He says they have new dates on May 24th, 25th and 26th and they are hoping they can get some more movement from Hudbay.
Davie adds they had no available dates until that time and they are optimistic they can still get a collective agreement. He says his members still have to go to work but there’s good co-operation by the striking members of the International Association of Machinists union at the picket lines.
