You Can be Trained in the North

Premier Greg Selinger and representatives of apprenticeship and training programs held a skills and jobs community forum in Flin Flon.  Selinger says through this forum employers can learn how to get into apprenticeship programs and students of all ages how to get the skills they need to be employable.  He says the idea behind it is to show and explain to the community all the opportunities there are in the trades in this province.  He adds we’ve got a huge number of building projects going on, we’ve got trucking, welding, manufacturing, all kinds of things going on in this province and if people want to have a good job where they can make a good living and stay close to their communities and live and work in Manitoba and raise a family there’s good opportunities.

Selinger mentioned the new training center at Frontier Collegiate in Cranberry Portage as well as the new skills training program at Hapnot Collegiate and Northern Mining Academy in Flin Flon.
