The New Board is at Work

The new Flin Flon School Board held their inaugural meeting Tuesday night where members were sworn in for a four year term.  The trustees elected Trish Sattleberger as new chair of the Board and Tim Davis will serve as Vice-Chair.

 

Superintendent Blaine Veitch reported the French Immersion projects in the Division will benefit from a grant of 91 hundred dollars from the French Second Language Revitalization Program.  He acknowledged Sylvie Dufour for her efforts in pursuing the grant.

 

At Ecole McIsaac School Mr. McKay’s grade 7-8 class has been chosen as one of six from schools across Canada to take part in a national crime prevention event that coincides with National Bullying Awareness Week.  Students will create a charter of rights encouraging a bully free behavior and will share their ideas with other students via video conference November 19th.

 

In closing new Board Chair Trish Sattleberger welcomed new Trustees Amy Sapergia Green, Leslie Fernandes and Andy Burbidge.
