Flin Flon City Council Dealt With Several Issues at Their Final Meeting

With election day today members of City Council last night thanked the community for their support over the past four years and quickly moved through their agenda.

             

Council voted to accept the contract with city employees who are members of CUPE Local 228 that runs until January 31st, 2017.

             

They received a request from Flin Flon School Division to reduce speed limits in all school zones to 30 kilometers an hour. The letter was referred to the Traffic Commission.

             

Council approved a donation of 500 dollars to Operation Red Nose operated by the Rotary Club during the Christmas season to get partiers and their vehicles home safely.

             

Councillor Skip Martin, the only Councillor not seeking re-election today thanked his wife for her support over the past four years, the media for their fair coverage of Council meetings and the citizens of Flin Flon for giving him a chance to serve on Council.
