Culture Days took place at the end of September and Project Manager of Culture Days Manitoba Melissa Courcelles reports it was attended by close to 45 thousand people over the three day action packed weekend with over 355 free arts and culture activities taking place across the province, an increase of 5 thousand people over last year.
Courcelles says attendance across the province continues to grow with Flin Flon leading the way with over 65 hundred people attending 86 events. People are counted at each event they attend.
Across Manitoba 28 rural communities participated and organized 142 events. In Winnipeg there was a record number 212 events over the three days. Across Canada some 2 million people participated in Culture Days with over 75 hundred events in 873 cities and towns.
Plans are underway for next years Culture Days weekend which will run from September 25th to 27th.
