The Tire Stewardship Manitoba Be Tire Smart traveling information booth will be at Canadian Tire in Flin Flon next Thursday. Their Executive Director Brett Eckstein says they’ll have food and information on proper tire maintenance. He explains Tire Stewardship Manitoba is the provincial industry led tire recycling program and they’re responsible for ensuring that well over a million tires a year in the province get recycled.  But he says before that happens they’d like to make sure that consumers are aware of how to make their tires last longer so they can eliminate waste.

They will also have a barbeque with money raised going to the Canadian Tire Jump Start program and a display of items made from scrap tires. As well the staff will conduct a survey on tire recycling and those completing it will be entered into a draw for two thousand dollars worth of tires.
