Rainmaker Resources Limited has mobilized crews to the Jayjay Lake project in north-central Saskatchewan. This silica sand project is located 150 kilometers west of Flin Flon.
They report the sand deposit lies at surface and consists entirely of beach sand from the shores of glacial Lake Agassiz. This lake covered much of the central prairies until approximately 10 thousand years ago. Wave action on the beaches has resulted in clean, well-rounded sand grains, which may be suitable for hydraulic fracturing.
The Jayjay program will consist of a comprehensive sampling program over the complete property to assess the quality and thickness of the sand deposit. Previous work has confirmed the presence of the potential high quality sand. The company has the option to acquire the property from the current owner.
