With classes coming to an end the Flin Flon School Board met for the final time for the current school year. In his report Superintendent Blaine Veitch noted the division will receive 5 thousand dollars from the Northern Neighbors Foundation towards the renovations at Queen’s Park.  The grant presentation is scheduled for July 9th at 7 o’clock in city council chambers.  Veitch also recognized the staff that are retiring or not returning next year wishing students and staff a safe enjoyable summer.  The division hours for the summer from July 4th to August 15th will be Monday to Thursday 8 am to 4:30 pm.  The offices will be closed from July 21st to August 4th.

Board Chair Murray Skeavington closed the meeting by recognizing the importance of the many volunteers whose contributions have made our schools a better place to learn.  He also encouraged parents, family members and the general public to attend this year’s graduating class ceremonies.  Many Faces begin at 7:30 tonight in St. Ann’s Hall and Hapnot graduates tomorrow at the Whitney Forum starting at 4 o’clock.
