Earlier this year the Flin Flon School Division was well represented at the provincial Heritage Fair in Winnipeg.  Student Chloe Reitlo received the Young Citizen Award for her project on the Boer War and was invited to submit a video presentation for a national award which was viewed by the Board last night.  The Grade Six Ecole McIsaac School student spent a few weeks making the video telling the story of the Boer War which took place in South Africa from 1899 to 1902.  The video can be seen at www.canadahistory.ca and a link is posted on the 102.9 CFAR facebook page.  You can vote for Chloe’s video and help her achieve national recognition starting June 17^th up to July 11^th.  Chloe’s story also told of her Great Grandfather’s participation in the effort and she was proud to pass around the South African Queen Victoria medal he was awarded.
