The Flin Flon School Board heard about a number of awards last night

Superintendent Blaine Veitch reported that Queens Park will receive five thousand dollars as part of a Northern Neighbors grant.  This money will be used to develop a hard surface court as work continues this summer.  Ruth Betts Community School was one of five from across Canada selected by D’Addario to receive drum heads, guitar strings and other musical accessories as part of the Music Monday School Music Championship awards.

Flin Flon students did well during their first experience in the Provincial Heritage Fair.  Wendy Corden won the veterans award for her project on the Great War, Mackenzie Murray and Jayden Laliberte won the Aboriginal Circle of Educators award for their project on residential schools and Chloe Reitlo won the Young Citizen award for her project on the Boar War.  Chloe has now been invited to submit a video presentation for a shot at a national award.
