Foran Mining Corporation has issued an update on the winter exploration program at their properties in east-central Saskatchewan. Exploration activities included initial diamond drilling on their Target A, as well as geophysical surveys on both the McIlvenna Bay and Bigstone properties 65 kilometers west of Flin Flon.
Their President Patrick Soares says at Target A the single hole completed to a depth sufficient to reach the principal conductor appears to have hit a late, potentially crosscutting intrusive unit at their target depth although surface and borehole geophysics continue to point to a strong conductor of similar size and character to that associated with their large McIlvenna Bay deposit. Soares adds although they are disappointed that their initial test did not intersect massive sulphides Target A remains a high priority for further drill testing.
Foran describes the McIlvenna Bay Deposit as one of the largest undeveloped VMS deposits in Canada.
