Former Bomber Bench Boss Relieved Of Duties In Kam River

Former Flin Flon Bomber bench boss Larry Wintoneak has been relieved of his coaching duties with the Kam River Fighting Walleye of the SIJHL.

The Walleye made the announcement yesterday on social media, despite Wintoneak winning a league championship (The Bill Salonen Cup) last season.

Kam River was also able to pick up their first ever win at the Centennial Cup at last year's National Championship in Calgary.

Wintoneak has been coaching for  well over 20 years including 5 years with the Flin Flon Bombers between 1997 and 2001, and was the coach for the Bombers when they hosted the National Championship in 2001.

Other team's Larry has coached in the SJHL include the Laronge Ice Wolves and Kindersley Klippers.  Wintoneak has had a lot of success behind the bench with league titles in Dryden and Thunder Bay.

Kam River want to thank Larry for helping create a winning culture and wish him the best in his future coaching career.
