Second Place On The Line

The Flin Flon Bombers will try to snap a two game losing streak tonight, when they play host to the Melfort Mustangs.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since opening weekend when each team shut the other out at home.

Both teams have struggled in their last ten games. Flin Flon is 5-5 and Melfort is 4-3-0-3.

Offense continues to be a problem for the maroon and white with just 51 goals in 20 games. Only Notre Dame has scored less with 44.

The Mustangs aren't shooting out the lights either with only 55 goals in 19 games.

Both teams are good defensively, with the Bombers at a league best 44 goals against. The Mustangs are ranked second with 50 goals against, tied with Kindersley.

Congratulations to the Bomber's Brett Boehm who has been selected as the Canalta Player of the week. Boehm had one goal and five assists in four games played. Boehm leads the Bombers in goals with nine, and is tied with Cam Blair for the team lead in points with twenty.

The Mustangs are led offensively by third year vet Anthony Pickering who has seventeen points in eighteen games. Another veteran Brandon Sloan leads the 'Stangs in goals with ten.

Game time tonight is 7:30 at the Whitney Forum. No broadcast tonight, we will have both games from the road trip this weekend in Kindersley Friday and Battleford Saturday.
