Bombers Beat Broncos 3-2

The Flin Flon Bombers were outshot heavilly 42-29 last night at the Whitney Forum, but were still able to hold off the Humboldt Broncos 3-2.

Simon Hofley was spectacular again last night making big save after big save, to the delight of the home town crowd.

Hofley is 3-1 on the season with a GAA of 2.20 and an unbelievable SV% of 953. You can see how Hofley was the best goaltender at last year's Telus Cup.

Austin Calladine scored his first as a Bomber last night as he took a pretty pass from Cam Blair and went in on a break away and put it between Cade Spencer's legs.

Other Bomber goal scorers were: Dillan McCombie who opened up the scoring with his 6th, and Parker Evans Campbell added his fourth.

Bronco goals came from Logan Sproule and Cody Pongracz.

Flin Flon is back over the 500 mark at 8-7, and improve to 5-3 at the Whitney Forum. The Bombers are also 4-2 against teams from the Kramer Division, including 2-0 against the Broncos.

Flin Flon has leap frogged Melfort for third in the Sherwood with 16 points. The Bombers remain two points behind second place Nipawin, with three games in hand and four behind Laronge with two games in hand.

Tonight's game from the fabulous Whitney Forum can be heard on CFAR-590 and flinflononline.com with the Murray GM Coach's Show at 7:10 and play by play at 7:30.

Nice to see all the parents in attendance, wearing their son's jerseys and adding to an already electric atmosphere.

After tonight's game with Humboldt the Bombers will play a home and home with the Laronge Ice Wolves Tuesday and Wednesday.
