Gutsy Effort But Same Result

The Norman Northstars battled their hearts out this weekend against a very good Eastman Selects team, only to lose a heartbreaker Sunday afternoon.

The Selects pulled out a 2-1 victory with a powerplay goal late in the third period, with just over 7 minutes remaining.

Luke Penner from The Pas was outstanding again stopping 47 out of 49 shots. The lone Northstar goal came from Trent Laycock.

The Selects also beat the Northstars 5-2 on Saturday with Flin Flon's Riley McDonald scoring a short handed goal.

Norman's record slips to 1-10, as the Northstars hit the road this weekend.

They begin things Friday against Central Plains, Saturday in Brandon and wrap things up Sunday taking on Parkland.
