The Flin Flon Bombers have taken the first two games on their current road trip and have put themselves in a nice spot as they get ready for Weyburn on Friday.
The Bombers went into Melville Tuesday and built up a 5-0 lead en route to the 7-4 win and their first road win of the season.
Cole McCaig scored his first 2 goals of the season to lead the way including a big insurance goal in the third period.
Other goal scorers were: Brett Boehm with a pair, Cam Blair, Landon Heibert and Eric Pederson.
The Bombers came out a little sluggish against Estevan on Wednesday but still scored the only goal in the first period to take a 1-0 lead after one. Parker Evans Campbell took a pass from Danis Chartrand and made a good move on Bruin goaltender Matt Gibney to pick up his second of the season.
Devin Buffalo was outstanding again as he made 33 saves including 14 in the first period to pick up his 4th win of the season. His breakaway save on Austin Daae in the first 30 seconds of the game stood out as one of his best on the night.
The Bombers also got goals from Hounsell, his first on the power play and an empty netter from Cam Blair to ice it with 29 seconds left as the Bombers won the game 3-1.
Hounsell's goal was the first from a Bomber defenceman this season.
After Wednesday's game Flin Flon improves their overall record to 5-3 and have taken over second place in the Sherwood Division, 6 points behind the front running Ice Wolves.
The Bombers are 2-1 on the road and will look for their third straight win on this trip when they hit Weyburn Friday. Flin Flon beat Weyburn 4-1 last Friday at the Whitney forum when rookie netminder Simon Hofley made 46 saves for his first ever SJHL win.
