Flin Flon Bomber Main Camp wrapped up this afternoon with the annual Maroon and White game.
In front of a decent crowd Team Maroon picked up the 6 to 3 victory.
Kylynn Olafson led the way with a pair of goals and an assist and was a cross bar away from getting the hat-trick and wrapped up a very impressive camp.
Veteran Keefe Gruener and new comer Austin Parsons with a pair of goals rounded out the scoring. Parsons played last year for the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL and picked up 27 points in 43 games, and might be able to help with some secondary scoring this year with a lot of high octave forwards graduating from last year's team.
Team White goals came from Carter Anderson, Leo Seitz and John Delverne.
Anderson was the best Bomber at camp and looked more like a player trying to make the team as guy that already earned a spot. Anderson was flying throughout the weekend and may even be faster than he was a year ago.
Seitz was one of the Bomber signings from Spring Camp and he looked good all weekend. Delverne comes to the Bombers from the U-18 US National team and didn't look out of place.
Team Maroon went with two goalies including 20 year old Carson Rennie who is looking to land a spot after spending last year in the PJHL with the Prince Albert Timberjaks. Rennie was in Flin Flon last year backing up Harmon Laser Hume after Kenny Marquart was suspended for 7 games midway through the season.
I thought he had a good camp and deserves a look. Rennie stopped 15 out of 16 before giving way to the clear number one Kenny Marquart who stopped 9 out of 11.
Team White went with Massimo Urbani who gave up 4 goals on 14 shots. Urbani played in the BCHL with Nanaimo and Powell River. Noah Davis came in relief and stopped 17 out of 19 shots.
Davis was in the SIJHL last year with the Red Lake Miners and put up decent numbers going 13-5 with a 2.53 GAA and a save % of .911. It will be interesting to see who Mike Reagan decides who will be the backup.
The Bombers made a handful of cuts after the game this afternoon and get ready to jump on the bus as they will head to Laronge on Monday for an all rookie affair.
Head Coach and GM, Mike Reagan indicated that they will make the majority of their cuts after their first pre-season game in Laronge tomorrow. Game time will be 8:30pm, Manitoba time.
Flin Flon will host Laronge in the rematch this Friday at the Whitney Forum with puck drop at 7:30.
