The Northern Stars U-16 Girls Volleyball team made their debut this past weekend in Swan River. They have been practising for the last several weeks and got a chance to play in their first tournament.

 

The team is coached by Ray Shirran and they had a good showing.

 

The Stars won their first game 25 to 18 and 25  to 15 over Swan River. The Stars took on the Predators which is a team made up of girls from Grandview and Gilbert Plains and lost in three sets 25-12, 18-25 and 12-15.

 

They then beat Russell in the Semi's 25 to 14 and 25 -16 which put them in the final and another chance at the Predators.

 

The girls played hard losing in three sets 16-25, 25-22 and 4-15.

 

They finish second and did quite well with three of their players who couldn't make the trip who were playing Senior Basketball.
