Bombers Shine At The Showcase

The SJHL/MJHL Showcase has wrapped up in Winnipeg with the SJHL taking 5 out of the 6 head to head matchups.

 

It was a very good day for several Flin Flon Bombers who suited up for the SJHL U-20 White team that knocked off the MJHL U-20 Red team 7 to 5.

 

Four different Bombers scored including Carter Anderson, Jacob Vockler, Anthony Piccininno and Alexi Sylvestre.

 

The other goals were scored by Nipawin's Liam McInnis, Humboldt's Travis Bryson and David Coyle from the Yorkton Terriers.

 

Damon Cunningham of the Nipawin Hawks  got the start in between the pipes and stopped 26 out of 31 shots to collect the win.

 

The team was coached by Bomber bench boss Mike Reagan.

 

In other games on Wednesday, the MJHL U-20 Black beat the SJHL U-20 Gold, 5 to 2.  The Estevan Bruins Ilia Chemelevski and Tylinn Hilbig of the Kidersley Klippers scored the SJHL goals in a losing cause.

 

In the final game played yesterday, the SJHL U-18 Team Blue beat the MJHL U-18 Team White 5 to 2.

 

Scoring for the sjhl were Jaydon Iyogun from Melville, Cade Meiklejohn from Weyburn, Finley Radloff of the Hawks, Ben Constantino from Humboldt and Cam Perlinger who suits up for the Kindersley Klippers.

 

Rookie standout Aiden Fischer of the Humboldt Broncos stopped 32 out of 34 shots and was one of the big differences in the game.

 

The Bombers return home to face the Nipawin Hawks on Friday night in Hockey Night In The North. The game is absolutely free for anyone who would like to attend the game courtesy of the City Of Flin Flon, Town Of Creighton, Village Of Denare Beach, North Of 53 CO-OP, Arctic Beverages, Foran, Hudbay, Bailey Homes and Chicken Chef.
