Kodiaks Fall In Wakaw

It was a great effort in Wakaw yesterday, but the Creighton Kodiaks came up a bit short losing to the Warriors 50 to 22 and their season is now over in the 6 Man Saskatchewan Football League.

Creighton started well courtesy of a couple Payton Pelletier touch downs and were only down 22 to 15 at the half.

The Kodiaks turned the ball over on their first possession of the second half and the Warriors started to roll and never looked back reeling off 5 straight touchdowns for the convincing win.

Jordan Gorrell would score a late touchdown for Creighton who tried to keep  the score respectable.

Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk had this to say after yesterday's game.

" My thoughts were we did what we wanted to do coming into the game and we were well prepared. We scored right off the hop and led 9 to 8 after the first quarter. I thought our best players were playing very well in the first half. Unfortunately what has plagued us all year happened in the second half including  untimely miscues, penalties and turn overs and they have a really good quarterback. We had a whole new starting offense this year and we made great strides but lost to a very good veteran team."

The future does look good with the Kodiaks only graduating two players and will be able to pretty much bring everybody back for next season.

One more order of business will be the Kodiaks Football Banquet which will take place in early November.

Creighton will finish the season at 1-4 and good luck to the Wakaw Warriors who move on to the next round of the playoffs.
