So far so good for the Flin Flon Bombers on their Southern road swing as they made their way to Wilcox last night and blanked the Notre Dame Hounds 5 to 0.

 

That is back to back shut outs as the Bombers have out scored the opposition 10 to 0 in the two games.

 

Kenny Marquart got the start and stopped all 23 Hound shots fired in his direction.

 

Reid Arberry who has been impressive in the two games he has dressed scored his second of the season which stood up as the game winner just 2:46 into the opening period.

 

Home Town Captain Justin Lies kept up his hot pace scoring a pair to give him 8 on the season and 6 in his last 4 games.

 

Lies also sits fifth overall in league scoring with 13 points in 8 games.

 

Noah Houle and Cheechoo Lathlin rounded out the scoring and this was a big goal for Lathlin who missed almost all of last season as he collected his first ever SJHL goal. 

 

Flin Flon fired 46 shots at Hound goalie Jesse Pye. The Bombers got plenty of chances with the extra attacker and went 2 for 8 on the powerplay. Notre Dame finished 0 for 2.

 

The Hounds fall to 0 and 9 on the season and offense continues to be a problem with just 11 goals in 9 games.

 

Flin Flon mean while continues to fill the net with a whopping 50 goals in 8 games and are first overall at 7-0-1, 3 points up on the Melfort Mustangs who have two games in hand.

 

The Bombers also have 4 players in the top 5 in league scoring including Jacob Vockler who is first with 18 points followed by Alexi Sylvestre with 16, Noah Houle 15 and Justin Lies with 13.

 

It is a day off today with the road trip resuming in Estevan tomorrow and winding  up in Weyburn Saturday.

 

A bit of a slow start for the Bruins this year at 3-3-0-1 but they always get up to play the Bombers and I think this may be the best rivalry in the league.
