The Flin Flon Bombers picked up a convincing 6-0 win in pre-season action last night over the Swan Valley Stampeders of the MJHL.

The Bombers did it with pretty much with an all rookie lineup dressing only 6 vets-  Parker Evans Campbell who they just obtained in a trade, Dillan McCombie, Tyson Empey, Danys Chartrand, Greg Wiwcharuk and Brett Boehm.

The Bombers are definately very fast and skilled and were able to get to the Swan Valley net last night with ease.

I realize this is the pre season and Swan had a lot of rookies in their lineup but I really like what I see. I like the combination of size and talent that Mike has brought in to compliment a good core of veterans to start the season.

I caught up with Mike after last night's game and he was very happy with what he saw.

" Tonight's victory was a great effort by our guys and we liked what we saw out of most of the guys you know just responding to some of the chalk talk we had before the game. We havn' t run any practises yet to go over systems and it was really nice to see guys executing what we talked about."

16 year old Connor Ingram played the entire game and stopped all 27 Stampeder shots fired in his direction and impressed the 300 plus in attendance Tuesday night.

Connor will go back to play Triple A, but definately showed he has a very bright future ahead of him.

Scoring goals for Flin Flon:
Dillan McCombie led the way with 2, and singles came from: Evan Patrick, Brett Boehm, Seamus Maguire and Brandon Workun.

McCombie looked real good and is very excited about this season " There was lots of guys at main camp chopping at the bit to try and grab a position on this team and this was as competitive of a main camp that I have ever seen, and I think with the new additions and the guys we have coming back we will be good again this year."

The Bomber pre-season record is now 1-1 and will see another MJHL opponent on Friday with the OCN Blizzard who are expected to be one of the MJ's best teams. Game time Friday 7:00 at the GLMC.
