Thompson is hosting the Manitoba Credit Union’s Master Men’s and Women’s Provincial Curling Championship's  this week.

 

This is the first time that Thompson  is hosting this particular tournament, which features curlers ages 60 and older.

 

Sam Antila, the chair of the tournament’s hosting committee who’s also participating in the competition, shares the details.

 

"For the Men's side we have 16 teams from all over the province and they are divided into two pools of 8. They will start pool play this Thursday and continue on til Sunday at which time the top two teams will advance to a playoff format. The Semi Finals and Final will be played on Monday March the 13th."

 

On the women’s side, they will be playing a round-robin before the playoffs instead.

 

There are 16 men’s teams and five women’s teams competing this year.
