Selects Impressive In Playoff Debut

The PBCN Selects had no trouble filling the back of the net and cruised to a 9 to 3 win over Cross Lake this past Saturday in their first ever playoff game.

 

It was game one of a best of three for the opening round of the playoffs in the KJHL.

 

One of the Selects top scorers from the regular season, Dwayne McKenzie led the way with a 4 point game including his first playoff hat-trick.

 

The other Select goals came from Antonio Constant with a pair, Carson Favel, Israel Maktor, Leo Kaludjak and local product Gage Gogal scored his first ever goal for the Selects.

 

Wilfred McLeod led Cross Lake with a pair of goals.

 

Odin Church played well and stopped 36 out of 39. Aidan Spraggs had a tough night giving up 9 goals on 29 shots.

 

Game two will go in Cross Lake on Wednesday. If necessary, game three would go at the Whitney Forum on Thursday.

 

In the other opening series  the NCN Flames swept Norway Hose two games to none, winning both games on the weekend 5 to 4 in OT and 6 to 3 yesterday afternoon.
