Flin Flon Teams Have Great Showing At Munn Cup

One of the longest  running minor hockey tournaments in all of Manitoba took place in Thompson this past weekend.

The Munn Cup wrapped up yesterday and both Flin Flon teams had a good showing.

The Northland Ford Bombers competed in the B-division and went undefeated.

The Bombers beat Norway House and The Pas to get to the finals. They didn't disappoint with a 13 to 6 win over the Gillam Chargers in the B-Final.

Jacob Kozar led the way with a hat-trick and Jory Genaille was the player of the game. Arden Taylor earned two shut-outs on the weekend.

The Peds Threads Bombers were in the A- division. They started a little slow with a couple of tight losses to Rankin Inlet and Thompson.

They finished the round robin with a 5 to 3 win against the Pas Huskies and got another chance at Rankin in the semi's.

This time Peds Threads prevailed in a nail biter 5 to 4 and got to the Munn Cup Final against the host King Miners.

The score was deadlocked 2 to 2 after 2, but the King Miners had a strong third period and ended up winning 5 to 2 to claim  the Munn Cup.

Cache Bentley was the player of the game and scored both goals.

Congratulations to Bentley Crone who made the all star team.
