Bombers Drop 4 To 1 Decision In Weyburn

It was a good start for the Flin Flon Bombers who made their way to Crescent Point Place in Weyburn last night.

The Bombers got on the board late in the first period when Jacob Vockler scored his 12th of the season with just over 2 minutes remaining in the opening frame.

Weyburn answered that with a powerplay goal early in the second from leading scorer Ryley Morgan and the Wings never looked back.

The Wings would add three more for the 4 to 1 win  with the other goals coming from Jacob Kalin, Nicholas Kovacs and Elijah Anderson.

Harmon Laser Hume was back between the pipes last night for Flin Flon  and he surrendered 4 goals on 30 shots.

Mitchell Dazza got the start for Weyburn and he only gave up one goal on 32 shots.

The Bombers were with out their top offensive threat, Cole Duperreault who injured his back the night before in Yorkton. They are definately missing him and Jaeden Mercier who remains out of the lineup with a broken foot.

Duperreault's status for the rest of the trip is unknown.

After last night's loss the Bomber record will drop to 28-12-2-1 and they remain two points behind Laronge for first in the Sherwood and second overall. Flin Flon has 6 games in hand.

It was a big two points for Weyburn who improve to 20-20-2-1 and are now 6 points up on Notre Dame for the final playoff spot. The Wings are also just two points back of Nipawin for 7th with a game in hand.

The Bombers will get today off before resuming the road trip in Estevan tomorrow and Notre Dame on Sunday. If the playoffs were to start today the Estevan Bruins would be the Bombers first round opponent.
