Great Way To Start The Trip

It was a great way for the Flin Flon Bombers to start the 4 game in 5 night road trip last night as they went into Yorkton and shut out the Terriers 2 to 0.

The game winning goal was scored just 2:05 into the opening period when Zach Cain potted his 19th on a terrific feed from Jeremi Tremblay.

That would hold up til late in the third when Barron Stibbe was able to score his first as a Bomber for a little insurance,  as the Bombers hung on for an important two poiints.

Kenny Marquart got the start and picked up his second shutout of the season and ended up stopping all 21 shots fired in his direction.

Caleb Allen got the start for Yorkton and was their best player last night stopping 35 out of 37 shots , and was the biggest reason the Terriers were able to stay in the game.

Wit last night's win, the Bombers improve to 28-11-2-1 and are once again just two points behind Laronge for first in the Sherwood and second overall.

Flin Flon also has 7 games in hand. The Bombers will leap frog Humboldt by two points and take over third overall, with the Broncos having a game in hand.

The road trip will continue tonight in Weyburn against a much improved Red Wing team.

The Wings are 6-2-2 in their last 10 and are really starting to put some distance between them and Notre Dame for the final playoff spot. Weyburn is 6 points up on the Hounds and are now just 4 points behind 7th place Nipawin.

Flin Flon leads the season series 2 games to none and puck drop is 7:30 in Weyburn tonight.
