Bombers And Broncos Split

It was two very entertaining hockey games between two clubs battling for second place overall in the SJHL standings.

The Flin Flon Bombers hooked up in a pair of games against the Humboldt Broncos this weekend at the Whitney Forum  and took the opener 6 to 2 on Friday night.

Jeremi Tremblay hat the hot hand scoring his 18th and 19th of the season and continues to be a threat every time he is on the ice. Tremblay has scored 7 goals in his last 10 games.

The other Bomber goals came from Brock Mueller and Noah Houle who both scored their first of the season. Alexi Sylvestre and Brent Gulenchyn both found the back of the net as well.

Daylan Weigel and Spencer Bell replied for the Broncos on the powerplay.

Humboldt played a totally different game on Saturday and managed to hold the Bombers to 28 shots and picked up the 2 to 0 win.

Lucas Ceccarelli re-directed a puck into the top of the net on Harmon Laser Hume for the game winner. Spencer Bell scored into the empty net with only 35 seconds left in regulation for the insurance marker.

The SJHL Goalie Of The Month, Benjamin Motew stopped all 28 shots for his second shut-out of the season but didn't have to make a lot of difficult saves.

Harmon Laser Hume was the busier of the two stopping 32 out of 33 and was good in both games on the weekend.

After the weekend split, the Bombers remain in second over all at 22-8-2-1 good for 47 points. the Broncos are 21-10-1, good for 43 points and a game in hand on Flin Flon.

How about this for the schedule makers. These two teams will play for the third straight time in Humboldt this Thursday as the Bombers kick off a 3 game road trip.

Flin Flon will also visit Kindersley on Friday and Saturday. All three games will be broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com.
