Bombers Lose To Mustangs Add Pearce

Not the way the Flin Flon Bombers wanted to start the weekend in Melfort.

The Bombers travelled to the Northern Lights Palace to kick off the home and home and ended up dropping a 6 to 3 decision.

Things started well , with Kylynn Olafson and Cole Tanchuk scoring their first goals of the season to give the Bombers a quick 2 to 0 lead.

Melforts's leading scorer Zac Somers answered the second Bomber goal and the Mustangs took over.

They out scored the Bombers 5 to 1 from that point and picked up their 5th straight win.

Somers would add one more, with a pair from Dawson Leroux, Cameron Emigh and Aidyn Hutchinson.

Jaeden Mercier scored the other Bomber goal.

The Mustangs were finally able to get to Laser Hume after scoring just one goal in the two previous meetings. Hume gave up 4 goals on 25 shots with a couple of empty netters.

Joel Favreau was back in net for Melfort and was solid with 36 saves on 39 shots.

A big win for the Mustangs who all of a sudden have crept to within 5 points of Flin Flon and Laronge. If the Mustangs can win the rematch in Flin Flon tonight, the deficit would only be 3 points.

The Bombers will get a boost with the addition of Rylan Pearce who was reassigned to Flin Flon from the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL.

Pearce only dressed in 8 games with Kamloops picking up two assists. He is expected to dress tonight.

Don't forget it is the Northland Ford Teddy Bear Toss tonight. So please bring a teddy bear or unwrapped toy to donate towards the Salvation Army Christmas hamper drive. You can throw the teddy bears on the ice after the Bombers score the first goal.
