Bombers Shut Out Hounds

It was a goaltending dual of epic proportions last night at the Whitney Forum.

Both the Bombers Harmon Laser Hume and the Hounds Tucker Inabinet put on a clinic with what seemed like several highlight reel saves both ways.

In the end,  the Bombers did sneak a couple pucks past Inabinet in pulling out the 2 to 0 victory.

The game remained scoreless til the 2:48 mark of the third period when Jeremi Tremblay jumped on a rebound and picked up his 6th of the year on the powerplay.

That would stand up as the game winner,  but Bomber Captain Lucas Fry scored a big insurance goal late when he fooled Inabinet with a shot from just inside the blue line.

This was Fry's first of the season.

Flin Flon out shot Notre Dame 39 to 35 and gained some revenge from a 4 to 1 setback against the Hounds last Saturday.

Harmon Laser Hume picked up his league leading third shutout of the year and continues to impress with a save % of .933.

The Bombers also  snapped Notre Dame's three game winning streak.

With the win, Flin Flon improves to 9-3-1-1 and sit first in the Sherwood Division with 20 points. The Hounds fall to 5-7-0-1 and remain third in the Global Ag Risk Solution Division.

The Bombers will get a 6 day break and return to action next weekend when one of the most improved teams from last season comes to the Whitney Forum.

The Melville Millionaires pay their first visit up North,  and the Bombers have already beaten the Mills twice this year including a 7 to 2 win in Melville back on October the 11th.

We will broadcast Saturday's game right here on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com including the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:10.
