Kodiaks Look To Defend Their Title

The Creighton Kodiak 6 Man Football Team are preparing for their biggest game of the season , as they head to Cumberland House tomorrow for the Northern Saskatchewan Football Championship.

Creighton will be looking for their third straight Ralph Pilz Trophy and this is the fourth straight time they will meet Cumberland in the final.

Cumberland is a very strong team that has gone undefeated so far this season and did beat the Kodiaks a few weeks back by a score of 66 to 40.

Head Coach Ryan Karokochuk says he feels they will be better prepared this time. " We are feeling good, we practised very hard this week and we broke down their tape to the best we possibly could. The last game bothered us not going up there as  prepared as we needed to be. We are going in there fully healthy, so we should have a good shot and we are ready to go."

No matter what happens tomorrow, both these teams will play at least one more game as they will move into Provincials the following weekend.

The Kodiaks will play the winner of Wakaw  and Birch Hills and Cumberland will play the winner of Carrot River and ST. Brieux.

Kickoff in Cumberland tomorrow is 1 pm Sask time.
