Bombers Fall In Estevan

Plenty  of offense last night at Affinity Place as the Bombers made their way back to Estevan to take on the Bruins for the first time since last year's league final.

Flin Flon found themselves on the wrong end of a 8 to 6 score.

The two teams were tied at 2 after one, then the Bruins took charge in the second scoring four times to take a 6 to 4 lead.

Flin Flon did fight back to tie it up in the third,  but Mitch Kohner scored the winner around the 12 minute mark of the third  before Cody Davis added an empty netter.

Alex Von Sprecken made his first visit to Affinity Place and scored his first as a Bomber late in the opening period. Von Sprecken was traded to the Bombers just last week in a trade that sent shock waves around the league.

The other Bomber goals came from Cole Duperreault who picked up a pair and now leads the team with 9.

Jacob Vockler , Jeremi Tremblay and Matt Egan also found the back of the net.

Kade Runke hat the hot hand for the Bruins as he picked up the hat-trick and now has 8 on the season.

Estevan was able to get to Harmon Laser Hume and beat him 7 times on 38 shots while the Bombers scored 6 times on 40 shots on Cam Hrdlicka.

Flin Flon will fall to 1-1 on the road trip and to 7-2-1-1 on the season. Estevan moves to 7-6 and have won 6 in a row and continue to lead the Viterra Division.

The Bombers will get the day off and the trip will resume in Weyburn on Friday.

Puck drop will be 8pm, Manitoba time.
