Kicking Off The Road Trip In Style

The Flin Flon Bombers kicked off their first southern road trip in style last night with a convincing win in Melville.

New comer Wyatt Cook scored  just 6:52 into the opening period and the Bombers never looked back picking up an impressive 7 to 2 victory.

Jaeden Mercier and Jeremi Trembley both led the offensive attack with 3 points each including a pair of goals.

Matt Egan and Jacob Vockler both pitched in for their first goals of the season.

Harmon Laser Hume was good again picking up his 5th win of the season in stopping 20 shots.

In 8 starts so far this season Laser Hume is 5-1 with a 1.60 GAA and a SV % of .946.

Tucker Buhay and Zach  Cain scored the Melville goals.

The Bombers chased strarter Kelton Pyne after scoring 6 goals on 22 shots. Clement Labillois came in relief and gave up 1 goal on 8 shots.

The Bombers have won 6 of their last 7 games and remain first in the Sherwood at 7-1-1-1 with 16 points.

This was a big win because both Nipawin and Laronge won last night to keep pace as the Hawks are 4 points behind and the Wolves are 5.

Next up will be the rematch of this last Spring's SJHL final as the Bombers make their much awaited return to Affinity Place in Estevan.

Puck drop is at 8:30 MB time and after a slow start the Bruins have won 5 in a row and are first in the Viterra Division at 6-6.
