It's A Sweep

It was a very impressive weekend for the Flin Flon Bombers who posted back to back shutouts over the Kindersley Klippers.

The Bombers took both Friday's and Saturday's games by scores of 4 to 0.

On Friday, Harmon Laser Hume stopped all 30 shots he faced for his second shutout of the year. Saturday, the rookie Kenneth Marquart got just his second start of the year and made 20 saves for his first ever SJHL shutout.

It was a good weekend for Jaeden Mercier who finally found the back of the net for his first two goals of the season. Jaxon Martens also scored a pair and local product Joey Lies was able to score his first ever SJ goal on Saturday.

Lies picked up a puck in the corner and fired it on Klipper netminder Logan Falk beating him high blocker side.

Falk was the real only bright spot for Kindersley who were out played badly in both weekend contests.

Flin Flon fired 106 shots at the Klipper net in the two games and only gave up 50. Falk looks like the real deal and if Kindersley can get him some help he should have a bright career.

After the weekend the Bombers will improve to 6-1--1-1 and continue to lead the Sherwood Division with 14 points. That is 4 more than Nipawin and Melfort, and Flin Flon has two games in hand.

The Bombers also announced another trade after Saturday's game. The team has acquired Wyatt Cook from the Bonnyville Pontiaks of the AJHL for a player development fee. Cook has 1 assist in 4 games for the Pontiaks this season.

Next up for the Maroon and White will be a challenging 4 game in 5 night road trip starting tomorrow in Melville.

The Bombers will also hit Estevan on Wednesday, Weyburn on Friday and wrapping up in Notre Dame on Saturday.
