Kodiaks Lose First Game Of The Season

It was a tough afternoon yesterday for the Creighton Kodiaks who lost for the first time this season in the Northern Saskatchewan Football League.

It was also their most lopsided loss in franchise history losing 66 to 40 in Cumberland House.

The Islanders jumped out to a quick 14 to 0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Creighton did manage to tie the game at 34 in the third quarter, but Cumberland's offense was too much on this day and they had a strong fourth quarter and pulled away.

Carson Straile and Aidan Joa Hall made some big plays on offense,  but Cumberland were not going to be denied in this game and improve to 4-0.

The Kodiaks fall to 4-1 and will play their final regular season home game next Thursday against Ahtahkakoop, 3:30 at the Creighton Field.
