The Flin Flon Bombers have made a major upgrade to their team today.
The Maroon and White have landed 20 year old defenseman Alex Von Sprecken from the defending SJHL champion Estevan Bruins for a PDF.
Von Sprecken was a key piece in the Bruins run to the league title when they beat the Bombers in an exciting 7 game series to claim their first title in over 20 years.
He scored the tieing goal in game 5 with less than 4 seconds remaining in regulation which allowed the Bruins to come back and win the game in OT.
This was the biggest goal of his career and one of the biggest in the Bruins run to the cup.
Head Coach and GM of the Flin Flon Bombers, Mike Reagan had this to say after his team landed Von Sprecken. " We are extremely excited about it and when a player like that becomes available, it is very tough not to take a run at him. I talked to Alex after we made the deal and he is very excited to be a Bomber. He has lots of experience playing here in the Whitney Forum against us, so he knows what to expect. He thinks it is a great fit and so do we."
Von Sprecken will arrive in Flin Flon tonight and will practise with his new team-mates tomorrow, before dressing for his first game as a Bomber against Kindersley on Friday.
