Broncos 2 Bombers 1

The Flin Flon Bombers were less than 3 minutes away from upsetting the Humboldt Broncos last night at the Whitney Forum.

Humboldt who  hasn't lost a single game this year managed to finally get a puck past Laser Hume,  when Ethan Zielke snuck a shot through lots of traffic in front of the Bomber  net.

The Bronco's took advantage of a late powerplay and also pulled the goalie to go 6 on 4.

Humboldt carried the momentum into the extra period and scored at the 3:12 mark when Xavier Roy converted a nice pass from Noah Barlage.

The Bronco's now sit with a perfect record of 8-0 and are first overall in the SJHL.

Flin Flon's lone goal was scored by Jeremi Tremblay who picked up his third of the season midway through the second.

Final shots were 43 to 31 in favour of Humboldt.

The Bombers were trying for their fourth straight win after a hard fought 4 to 3 win over Nipawin the night before.

After last night, the Bombers record is  4-1-1-1 and are first in the Sherwood Division , two points up on Melfort and 3 up on Laronge and Nipawin.

Flin Flon will now have 4 days off before preparing for the Kindersley Klippers who make their way to the Whitney Forum for a pair of games this weekend.

We will broadcast Saturday's game on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com with the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:10.
