Good news for the Minnesota Wild's Dean Evason who had his contract extended by the club yesterday.

Evason,  who was born in Flin Flon signed a multi year extension yesterday and the Wild  appear to be on their way to a third straight playoff with Evason in charge.

The Wild have won 19 of 30 games this season and are  62-29-7 since Evason took  over the club in 2020. He was a finalist for the Jack Adams Award in 2021 and is regarded as one of the most passionate coach's in the NHL.

The announcement comes as the Wild prepare to play the St Louis Blues in this weekend's Winter Classic at Target Field.

Evason also pointed out in his press conference that it was important that the entire coaching staff was being brought back before he signed the extension.
