The Flin Flon Bombers continued their winning ways at the Whitney Forum with a convincing 5 to 1 win last night against Nipawin.
The Bombers were able to shake off a 3 to 2 loss against Estevan on Saturday and picked up their league leading 12th win at home.
The game was never in doubt as Matt Raymond opened up the scoring just 1:59 into the opening period.
This was just Raymond's fifth game since coming back from a shoulder injury from the pre season.
Raymond has lit a big spark into his team mates and has showed great leadership and is very proud to be a Bomber.
Brett Wieschorster scored just 3 minutes later as he converted an early Bomber power play with assists from Tremblay and Gagne.
Flin Flon never looked back and got more offense from Cole Vardy, Xavier Lapointe and McKenzie Carson chipped in with his first goal.
Braxton Buchberger got the lone goal for the Hawks who continue to struggle finding the back of the net.
The Hawks have scored 60 goals in 23 games which has them ranked fourth from the bottom while the Bombers have had no trouble scoring with 91 in 23 games which is fourth overall.
Cal Schell continues to be a work horse and picked up his 12th win of the season which is third best in the league and he also has the second best gaa of 2.06.
This was a big win for Flin Flon who are now 4 points up on Melfort for top spot in the Sherwood at 16-7. They are tied with Battleford for third overall with 32 points.
Nipawin continues to struggle at 9-11-0-3 and lead the fourth place Laronge Ice Wolves by just 2 points. The Hawks do have 2 games in hand.
The Bombers will get ready for a stiff challenge as they will face the first overall Humboldt Broncos 4 straight games including two this weekend at the Elgar Petersen Arena.
