The Bombers Are Back In Town

The Flin Flon Bombers are back on the ice after a 8 day break as they will return to the Whitney Forum to host the Melfort Mustangs tonight.

This will be the Bombers first game since the Mustangs took it to Flin Flon by a score of 7 to 3 last Wednesday at the Palace.

The Melfort power play was on fire going 5 for 7 and was the difference in the game.

Melfort has played one game since then and dropped a 3 to 2 decision to Laronge this past Wednesday.

Both teams are tied for first in the Sherwood Division with 24 points but the Bombers do have a game in hand.

This will be the fourth meeting of the season with the Mustangs holding the edge 2 games to 1.

Melfort has won both their home games and the Bombers took their game at the Whitney Forum 5 to 3 back on opening weekend.

Flin Flon is playing some good hockey going 7-3 in their last 10 and hopefully this break will get some injuries healed up. Matt Raymond is expected to be back in the line-up after a 6 week absence.

Cal Schell was a little banged up and missed the last game in Melfort but should be good to go again this weekend.

The Bombers continue to be led by 19 year old forwards Jaxon Martens and Cole Duperreault who are both in the top 20 in league scoring with 18 and 17 points.

Duperreault continues to lead the club in goals with 9 and powerplay points with 5.

We will be back on the air tonight with another great edition of Creighton Furniture Flin Flon Bomber Hockey which will include the Great North GM Coach's Show at 7:15 and drop of the puck at 7:30.

The Bombers will also host the surprising Notre Dame Hounds tomorrow and we will have that broadcast on Hockey TV.
